Day 3 @ Cannes Lions
My day three consisted of a whirlwind I never saw coming. Last night I registered for a small panel from Dentsu, discussing how they were collaborating with iSpace who is currently developing technology for exploring the moon. In 2021 iSpace will send a rover to analyze the moon and work towards their goal of expanding business to the moon. Dentsu came into play by acquiring the partnership sales rights and will benefit from the relationship. After leaving this talk with my mind blown, I wandered into a session I previously didn’t plan on attending. “Do You Have a Second?” was an amazing explanation of what it takes to capture an audience’s attention in a three second ad or six second ad while scrolling on Facebook or Youtube. The average consumer scrolls through 300 feet of content daily, and headline/visual arrangement as well as truly creative content may grab their eye. My love for music and Spotify drew me to the “Chief Creatives on the Beach” panel after, which included the VP of Global Brand for Spotify. The hot topic of in-house/ agencies was discussed as well as the increased presence of technology. Mainly wanting to see Julianne Hough speak, I left in the direction of the Female Quotient for some conversation on positive mental health and the importance of breath, movement, and visualization. This felt much needed due to the tiring long days I have been experiencing, and the Female Quotient penthouse was beautiful. Heading to my final session of the day, L’Oreal spoke on the inclusion of AI, VR, and AR in the beauty industry to include FaceTime like consultations as well as apps that apply makeup through AR to your face. I found this to be particularly interesting because I had never considered the impact technology has and will continue to have on beauty industries. We left and strolled in and out of some cabanas, including Roundel which I personally enjoyed speaking to. As we were walking back to the train station, we stopped by an Ad Age cocktail hour where we got a canvas bag but didn’t get invited inside. We rode the train home, and I planned out my tomorrow full of excitement!
Good.
